I'm on a Mac (12.6.3) using Acrobat Pro 2023.003.20244, which I just bought and downloaded yesterday.
I'm using Acrobat Pro to create hover tooltips -- you hover over text in a PDF, and additional help text should pop up. I've followed the guidance in every post I can find, and none of them work -- at least not when I try to open the resulting file in the Mac Preview app.
Is it possible that some of the interactivity you can create in Acrobat is only functional if your end user is opening the file in Acrobat??

To elaborate, many (non-Adobe) PDF viewers are known to be very problematic, implementing some features, and not others, or doing so badly. Apple Preview in specific is known to be very buggy for a long time now. It corrupts PDF form fields just by opening the file, for example. So it should be avoided, if at all possible.

Thanks, Bernd and try67. I'm not able to control how end users open the documents I'm creating, so it sounds like it may be a waste of time to even create the interactive tooltips. Bummer.

If you want to make sure they appear then add them as static text.
But if someone views a fillable PDF file in Preview, those tooltips are the least of your worries...
