Why is Adobe not supporting Acrobat Standard 2017???
How do I transfer my licence to a new PC? All help topics seem to pertain to DC and other products I do not have.

I've moved this from the poorly named Community Help forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Acrobat forum.

Use your original installer and serial number. Deactivate in the old PC if you can.
if that doesn’t help please tell us what happens.
On no account post your serial number.

I have all the original Acrobat Standard 2017 packaging and the disk. You mentioned the serial number.
The book has a "scan to activate" number, and inside there is a "redemption number," but no serial number.

Thanks. A redemption code is redeemed just once to give you a serial number. You did this once. It is this serial number that you need again today. If you didn’t keep a record you may have lost the use of the software. But if you registered the product, the serial number should be shown in your Adobe account... so check that out.

The product was purchased from Staples, who provided a 24-character "product key"? Is THAT the serial number? As far as I can see, it is all we received when I bought Standard 2017.

No. The serial number is 24 digits. See: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/find-serial-number.html
And Acrobat 2017 is still supported by Adobe.

Hey Dough!
I hope you are doing well.

Please check your Adobe account if you have registered the product key/serial number: https://account.adobe.com/orders
For detailed steps, you can also take help from this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/find-serial-number.html#IfyoupurchasedfromAdobecomorregi...
I have also checked the Adobe ID (email) used to login on Adobe Community and an Acrobat 2017 license is registered.
Please login to Adobe.com and you will be able to get the serial number.
Also, please make sure you deactivate the license from the old machine and install Acrobat on the new one and use the product key for activation. For steps, take help from this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/activation-deactivation-help.html
To download Acrobat 2017, you can use this link https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/acrobat-2017-downloads.html
Let us know if you experience any issues.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

I went to "Orders," and none are associated with my account. It looks like I have reached a dead end.

I found the original Staples invoice that includes a 30-character serial number. If the number I need would normally come on the sales receipt, maybe I have found it.

Is this 30-numeral "serial number" on the Staples sales receipt what I need for the new activation?

Hey Dough.
The Acrobat serial number/product key is a 24 digit number. I have sent you a direct message with more details about the serial number. Please check the message inbox.
And let me know if you still experience any issues.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

It will not be an order, since you did not buy from Adobe. It will be a registration. These are all shown on your Adobe account. It will not be in your sales receipt because it the serial number did not exist until you redeemed it.
