Hi Natt

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to apply the signature using fill and sign and getting the error as shown in the attached screenshot.

Few things that we need to know:

  • Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the all the PDFs that you try to sign? Please try with a different PDF file and check.
  • What is the workflow steps you are doing to add the signature? Please try to sign the PDF online via Document Cloud here https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/
  • What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version installed Go to Help > Check for Updates and reboot the computer.

Also, please try to logout of the application, reboot the computer once and relogin to the application and try to sign and check if that helps.

You may also try to connect the machine to a different network and see if that works for you.

Regards

Amal

Hi Amal

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the all the PDFs
that you try to sign? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

- Only the PDF files that I exported from my workplace’s system.

What is the workflow steps you are doing to add the signature?

- What I did was as follow:

1. I opened Acrobat DC from the Creative Cloud Desktop and opened PDF file

2. I used Fill & Sign tool and clicked “Sign Yourself” then I added my
signature and placed it where I need.

3. Clicked “next” button and “Save as a read-only copy”. Then clicked
continue and after that the pop-up I sent to you came up.

Please try to sign the PDF online via Document Cloud here
https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/

- By using PDF online via Document Cloud, I can applied my signature in the
PDF files that I exported from my workplace’s system.

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using?

- Version 2021.005.20060

To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the
latest version installed Go to Help > Check for Updates and reboot the
computer.

Also, please try to logout of the application, reboot the computer once and
relogin to the application and try to sign and check if that helps.

- I’ve tried that as well but I still couldn’t apply my signature on the
PDF files that I exported from my workplace’s system.

Thank you very much.

All the best,

Natt

Hi Natt

Hope you are doing well and thank you for trying out the suggestions. As mentioned its an issue with the PDFs exported from your workpplace system. Would you creating the PDF using Adobe Acrobat pro DC application and see if that helps.

Also, try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described in the help page - https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check.
