Unable to highlight anything in Adobe DC for Desktop

When I select the highlight tool and attempt to highlight text nothing happens. I have tried changing the color, but still nothing happens. I can highlight text if I upload the document and use the online app, but that is extra work and I don't have the time for that. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop app and I have also tried switching back to the old adobe. None of this solved the issue. Is there someting else I can try?

Hope you are doing well.

 

Please update the application to the recent version 23.08.20555 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
 
Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.
 
Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/49DXVkS
