That typically happens when you try to open a AEM/LiveCycle Designer PDF in a browser. You will "Please wait..." forever.
Download the PDF to your computer. Open it directly from Acrobat and not through the browser.

Did you DOWNLOAD the form and open DIRECTLY in Acrobat--or try to fill it out in a browser?
It worked for me.

Yes! I did. As stated in my previous reply.
Hello David. I have a similar issue. I can view and fill in my document (Family Information Form (IMM5707)(required) ). But when I try to "validate" it nothing happens and a clock appears and never goes away. A barcode should appear under the documents but nothing happens. Also I cannot sign it, specially the IMM5707 format as the option is not admitted. My Adobe Acrobat is the latest version (Architecture: x86_64 Processor: Intel Build: 25.1.20467.0 AGM: 7.1.11 CoolType: 10.0.3 JP2K: 4.0.2.54782) on MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1.

I can't see anything in your posts that clarifies that you downloaded the forms.
Can you give a screen capture of your ENTIRE screen showing the validate problem?

Hi, I also has a similar problem, but I think more complicated. This is the General Education and Employment form from Study permit. I downloaded the correct version of the file and acrobat reader it requireed, but some how I can't open it with th reader and it shows completely blank. On the name SECURED is added to the end, but I believe this file is not at all.

Other pdf in the Study permit process works fine with the reader, so I think it just this specific pdf (the General education and Employment Form) that is not compatible some how.

Hello!
I hope you are doing well.
Since other PDFs in the Study Permit process are working fine with Acrobat Reader, it does sound like the issue is specific to the General Education and Employment Form. This could be due to how that particular PDF was created or saved; it might contain non-standard form fields, embedded scripts, or elements that aren't fully compatible with Adobe Reader.
Try Opening in Acrobat Pro or another PDF Viewer like Browsers: If you have access to Acrobat Pro, try opening the file there to see if it behaves differently.
Check for JavaScript or Dynamic XFA Forms: Some government forms use XFA (XML Forms Architecture), which is not supported in all PDF viewers. If the form uses XFA, you’ll need to open it in Adobe Acrobat (not Reader) or Adobe Reader with enhanced support enabled.
You may have to reach out to the website support to get another version of the PDF file.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

The best way around it is to download the document and open it directly through Adobe Acrobat Pro on your computer instead of through the browser.

Hello, I have the same issue but worse: I cannot open the PDF file because I cannot download the latest version of Acrobat Reader, I get the message that my Mac needs to be 10.15 and mine is 10.14.6. What are we supposed to do, buy a new Mac just to open their form? I would be grateful for any tips/help about what I could do to open this document on my Mac, thank you in advance!

When dealing with immigration paperwork, it’s also worth checking if you’ll need any of your documents, like a birth certificate, apostilled. A birth certificate apostille is sometimes required for certain official processes, especially if you’re submitting documents internationally.

That has nothing to do with the technical Adobe question originally asked.

That can definitely be frustrating—Canadian immigration forms are often tricky since many require specific software versions to open and sometimes even crash while filling. It’s always best to keep Adobe Acrobat updated and check the official site for instructions. On a related note, if anyone is also exploring opportunities in the U.S., I came across a resource on US Immigration Services that provides helpful guidance on visas and work options. Might be useful for those comparing processes between Canada and the U.S.
