Can you please verify what verson of Acrobat you are using?

Acrobat DC: the Reader version with limited commenting and can save a filled out form.

Acrobat Standard DC: for PCs only and has limited Pro abilities

Acrobat Pro DC: full Acrobat capability

If you are in fact using Acrobat DC, the program is doing what it can and not doing what it can't.

If you are using Acrobat Pro DC we can try and help.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

++ Adding to the discussion, you may also checkout the suggestions in the  similar discussion https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/can-t-save-quot-the-file-may-be-read-only-or-another-user-may... and see if that works.

LATEST

Hi there

We have released a new update for Acrobat/Reader DC application version 21.05.20048. Please update the application from the help menu or manually from the link https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html and reboot the computer once after updating the application and check if that helps.

Amal
