Unable to split file in Adobe 2023.008.20423

When I go to "Organize pages", Split remains grayed out. Everything is "Allowed"

under "Document restrictions summary". I tried first selecting pages 1-111, still no

luck. I do wonder whether this is connected to another grayed out problem,

that when I click on "Add comments", then on "..." and "Customize toolbar", the

only option that "works" and causes "Save" to light up is a "Add divider to toolbar"

which appears to do nothing.

I am now told that "Acrobat DC Pro is not compatible with Mac OS Monterey."

Which versions is it compatible with? Anything except Monterey, including

versions for the M1 and M2 silicon Macs?

Why then did the latest Adobe Reader sent me to AA Pro, without

checking that it would run on my Mac, and with no warning that it

was incompatible with Monteerey and maybe other Mac OSs?

Why did it not detect the issue when I installed it?
