Can you confirm the exact versions of Acrobat and Office and the process you use to repair your installation.
You could be caught in a loop. Repair (which reverts to an older version) - system checks and tries to update - conflict with your Office - Repair again restarting the cycle.
Depending on your operating system and version of Acrobat, I would be either tempted to stop any automatic update of Acrobat (Check you startup services). I also wonder if you need to update your Office software.
