How long does it beach ball for before it crashes?

What are the crash details?

Hi,

Thank you for sharing the additional details. Have you started experiencing this issue after installing the latest update?

As mentioned, Acrobat crashes immediately. Does this happen when you launch the application or when trying to view/open a PDF or using any Tool?

Please refer to the troubleshooting steps suggested in this help article here: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-mac.html and let us know if that makes any difference.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Thanks for the quick reply!

I can preview PDFs in finder or Preview, but if I open Acrobat, or if I open a PDF 'with' Acrobat, it opens and works for roughly 6 seconds before the beachball appears and the application is 'not responding' and I need to force quit, so there's no crash report generated for me to share.

Ok, so not a crash at all. Sorry, I have no suggestion in this case, an actual crash gives a report which is sometimes helpful. AkanchhaS, please note this is not a crash.

What would you call it, then? The program is unusable.

That's a hang, not a crash. I know it doesn't seem important, as you can't work either way, but you heard (a very rare experience) from an actual Adobe tech, but you sent him looking for the wrong kind of problem.

Gotcha - I guess I need to reach out to the 'hang' department...

I experience exactly the same thing : I open the app and 5 seconds later it closes.

Ah, so a very different problem - Acrobat opens then closes. The original poster had Acrobat opening then hanging.

Christine, do you have an old version of Acrobat? Which one?
