I have a pdf with small images. The pdf was created in Illustrator.
I'd like to have it so that if a user clicks on a thumbnail, a larger version of the image will appear, with a close button.
I've tried to do this with Rich Media. I first created an invisible button on the thumbnail, then two more buttons that are hidden, as icons only. Then the first button (call it "thumbnail" has an action that when clicked, reveals the other two buttons: "large_image" and "close". The "close" button has an action that when clocked sets itself and "large_image" back to hidden. Ideally, this should how it works.
But it's not working. Once "large_image" becomes visible it stays visible. The close button sometimes appears by itself, and the action doesn't work. It's all messed up, and no matter how often I go and edit the actions in Properties, it never works as I'd like.
How can this be done? Please help.

You must be sure that the "close" button is on top of the image field.

So I should do this as a form, rather than just rich media?

I'm not sure to undestand what you mean by "Rich media".
In a PDF file a "button" is a Form Field object, that can embed an image.

It is possible to create a button field at rich media.
