New Here ,
Dec 14, 2025 Dec 14, 2025

I have used Commissioner Extra light font in indesign 24 version. After exporing as PDF, I could not see the font in acrobat instead it is showing Commissioner Thin font. Why the font name is incorrect in the acrobat and how can I fix it.

@Aruljothy_Subramanian PDFs do not fully support variable fonts in their original, dynamic format. Old tech just can't catch-up with new tech. What can you do? Don't use variable fonts.

You can't fix it. It's actually working as it should.

Variable fonts are actually just ONE font (maybe two if there's Italics for certain fonts) from which all other instances are created, so they will be listed by ONLY that base font name in the PDF - In this case Commissioner-Thin.

If you are not using variable fonts for custom instances and are instead using the "set" instances, you might consider downloading and using the Static versions of Commissioner (Google has them) and ditch the variable.

Personally, I find variable fonts more problematic than they are worth, but that's me. 🙂
