We had Acrobat installed on our server for years and now an update is stopping us from using it

We have had a paid version of Adobe Acrobat on our Terminal Server for years now and all of the sudden, there apparently was an update that was applied on 4/3/2025 that has broken our environment and now we cannot use the license that we paid for.  It is asking us to sign in and appears to now be forcing us to log in, which doesn't reckognize our paid, perpetual license.  There is also what appears to be a new service running called "Adobe Genuine Service"

Is there a workaround for this situation?

Why would a license that we paid for years ago before everything was changed to the monthly model stop working?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Thank you.  I hope there is help for this from Adobe.  Doesn't seem fair that a license that was paid for, regardless of age wouldn't continue to function.  I did not install this update, so not sure how they did what they did, but whenever we launch the program now we are prompted to log in.

Hello!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

Could you please share more details about the Acrobat version you were using? I tried verifying your Adobe ID (email), which you have used to log in to the community, and couldn't find any product registered under the Adobe ID.

The Adobe Genuine Service ensures that Adobe apps are genuine and not tampered with. If you believe this is causing issues, you can disable it temporarily to see if it resolves the problem. However, it's recommended to keep it enabled for security reasons. See this article for more details: Adobe Genuine Service

If you have access to the serial number, and initially the product was deployed using the toolkit, then you can reinstall the Acrobat and register it again. See this article to learn more about reserializing Acrobat and the tool: https://adobe.ly/42RxLZZ

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
