Hey All,
I recently hosted a virtual workshop and the workbook for the workshop was originally created in Word then converted to PDF. The Word document displays and prints just fine. The PDF version displays just fine in Acrobat but when I print it from Acrobat, there's one page that contains two imported graphics and some background color behind some text that cuts off the images and moves the color background.
It's hard to explain so I took a screenshot of that page as it appears in Acrobat and then took a photo of the printed page to illustrate (see attachments). I've tried editing the page in Acrobat and nudging the graphics up and down and every which way but nothing fixes the problem. And I have no idea how to adjust the gray area behind the text so it stays in place!
I am on a Mac Book Pro 14# running OS 12.6.3 (Monterey); Microsoft Word for Mac Version 16.71; Acrobat Pro for Mac Version 2022.003.20314 (via Creative Cloud).
If anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this I would be most appreciative. I make the workbook available to attendees as a PDF so they can't alter the document and because not everyone has or uses MS Word.

Hi @faluna
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that
Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.
What is the workflow/steps you did to create the PDF from Word? Please try to recreate the PDF from MS Word as described here https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/how-to/create-pdf-from-any-document.html and see if that works.
Check for any missing/pending updates for the printer driver and firmware and try updating it.
Also, try to print the PDF as an image. Open the PDF > go to Print > Advanced > Print as image and check.
For more info. Please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-pdf-printing-acrobat-reader.html and see if that works for you.
Regards
Amal

Hi Amal,
Thank you for the quick response. The one suggestion that worked to fix the problem was when I went into the Acrobat print dialog box for that page, clicked on Advanced and selected Print as Image. However, I realize that most people who would be downloading this probably don't have Acrobat so I needed to ensure that they would not have the same issue when printing from a PDF reader or browser.
I sent the file to a colleague who opened it with a PDF reader and printed it as is, and it printed out fine. Then I opened the PDF in my browser and printed that page and it printed out fine as well so I guess it's a weird Acrobat thing. At least I know how to fix it when printing it from within Acrobat 🙂
