When trying to add an image in Acrobat, I get a "Warnings and Errors: Unknown Error" popup

When trying to add an image in Acrobat, I get a "Warnings and Errors: Unknown Error" popup, and cannot add or replace an existing image in a pdf. . I have re-installed 3 times and each time it fixes it (briefly). This is happening every day, and occurs if I 'disable new Acrobat' so the old layout has the same issue. What is the PERMANENT fix? It stinks to re-install just to add an image. Thanks!

Unfortunately these did not make a difference. I re-installed Acrobat again today, likely will keep doing this a few times a day until someone can figure out the unknown error...

Hi Thomas32594535ohs9,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the delay in response.

Could you please confirm if this happens with all PDFs? Try creating a new PDF from a works file with an image for testing and check if the same behavior occurs when editing this testing PDF.

Share the Acrobat and OS version numbers. It would be helpful if you could share any sample PDF on which the issue occurs. We will get this behavior checked.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Thank you for helping. Acrobat Version: 2023.006.20320. macOS: Sonoma 14.0.  I install acrobat and it works fine for a few hours. Then I cannot add or replace an image (for an existing file or a new file). The unknown error popup appears every time (screenshot was attached at the top of this). This happens everyday, including today. Once I get the error, I immediately uninstall, reboot, re-install and start working again.

...and here's a pdf where this has occured (but once it occurs, adding an image does not work for any PDF - I tried a dozen- including a new file).

Hi Thomas32594535ohs9,

Thank you for sharing the information.

We tried to replicate the issue on our end in the same environment. It is working fine on our end.

Please let us know if the PDFs you are using are saved locally on the machine or a shared drive. Did you check if the issue occurs with a particular format of the image file or if it happens with all formats?

Is it a personal machine or a Work machine on which you use Acrobat?

It would be helpful if you could share the screen recording so we can share it with the team for further investigation.

In the meantime, please try testing using the following workflow.

- Create a test Word file and convert it to PDF.

- Then open it in Acrobat and try to add an image.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Thank you for trying to help.  I am reinstalling Acrobat right now again. The pdfs are all saved locally. It happens with any/all image file types- mostly jpgs and pngs. I install Acrobat, it works fine for hours. Once the 'unknown error' happens once, it happens every time (all or nothoing error). It is a company laptop- I cannot share screen recording for security reasons sadly.  I did the word to pdf test and it worked fine...but I ususally have to work on something for hours until it occurs.
