New Here ,
Jun 15, 2018 Jun 15, 2018

Using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (version 2018.011.20040). Used to be able to combine Word docs to create a single PDF in older version. Now Word docs don't show as supported format. What gives?

Hello Kevinh,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, you are not getting the options of Word document to combine in Acrobat Pro DC, Is that correct?

Word document format is supportable in combining documents, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx are supported document formats. For detailed information, you can refer to Supported file formats in Acrobat and Reader

Use File > Create PDF > Combine files into Single/Multiple PDF to convert these file formats to Adobe PDF and see if you are getting the Word document format.

Make sure that you have the latest version of Microsoft office installed? Is it a 32-bit version or 64 bit-version MS Office?

Please reset the Acrobat's Preferences once and reboot the machine, to reset the Preferences, refer to the steps mentioned in the article  How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.

You can also refer and try the solution from the following Adobe article MS Office documents not listed in supported file types when creating PDF from file

Let us know how it goes and share your findings.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

I'm having the same problem. DOC files are greyed out and not listed in the list of supported file types in the application. I don't have MS Word installed on my Mac. Does this mean I can't convert DOC files into PDFs?
