Why does acrobat struggle with standard features?

Why does adobe struggle so much with simple functions that every other program can seem to do easily? I'm wondering why is Acrobat highlighting the words "can", "RWDS_" (but not the rest of it) and "at" when I'm looking for the character "[" which it's not finding and highlighting any of and are clearly present? A square bracket is not a special character as far as I know, so why is it struggling so much with this?

Is this an intentional thing so you can pump updates out every day? Or is it more of an incompetence thing because it's an Adobe product?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described while using the find function you are not getting the required output.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If its a file specific issue please share the file with us for testing.

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC and the OS you are using? To check the version of the application go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 21.07.20099 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works for you.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...

You may also create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there.

Amal
