I scan a lot of files on a Fujitsu 6800 with Windows 10 and Adobe 2017. Adobe goes through the process of optimizing each page and at the end, crashes. My work-around is to uncheck the Optimize option, rescan (a 50 page document now comes in at 430mb), save it and then re-save it with the reduced file size option. Is there a cure for this?

Hi Nanciw,
Sorry for the delay in response.
As per the issue-description mentioned above, Acrobat is crashing when scanning a document with optimized settings, is that correct?
Please check if an update is available for Acrobat. Click Help > select Check for Updates. You can also download the update manually using this link: Adobe - Acrobat : For Windows. If installing update doesn't work, try repairing Acrobat by clicking "Repair Installation" under Help menu. Reboot the machine after repair and try again.
Could you please confirm the dot version of Acrobat you have on the machine? You may refer to this link on how to check the version: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC
Thank You,
Shivam

Hi Shivam, I also have this problem. After scanning a few pages the application states it needs to close. The product string is 2017.011.30079. My operating system is windows 10. Repairing as suggested doesn't help. There are no updates available.
Look forward to your suggestion
Peter

Many of us have this problem and after so many years of complaints I cannot understand why it cannot be fixed. I'm on an iMac with an Epson GT-S50 document scanner. As a teacher I am constantly scanning student work to archive. If I use the ICA driver without the manual adjustments (otherwise it crashes) the paper-white background comes out gray. The only solution has been to fall back to Acrobat Pro 11 and use the original Epson Twain driver which allows the manual brightness adjustments. I should add that the Epson software also allows me to drop out certain colors which sometimes comes in very handy. Is this a Mac ICA problem or is it an Adobe "it's not a priority" problem. Epson obviously knows how to address their own scanners why can't Adobe or possibly Apple learn from them, or Canon, as the case may be.
