Why does text disappear and how do I stop it from happening?

New Here ,

I was working with a PDF document using Acrobat Pro DC. I needed to respond to questions and place text in table cells. The "Fill and Sign" tool did not work with this document so I used the "Edit PDF>>Add Text" tool. I had no problem clicking on the pages (about 75 pages) and entering the text. I saved the document. Later I had to add more text and edit the text I had already added. Again there was no problem. The third time I needed to add or edit text I looked at my previous additions and half the text disappeared. The text box where the text had been was still there just was empty. Some of the text boxes still contained part of the text (e.g. in a City, State, Zip box the City and State disappeared but the Zip was still there).

Can anyone tell me why this happened and can I do anything to prevent this from happening again?

Hi @hey__joe,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.

We made many stability and performance enhancements in the subsequent releases.

Could you update the app to the latest version (2024.005.20241) and let us know if the issue is fixed?

To do so, go to Menu-> Help-> Check for Updates.

I was not able to reproduce this in the latest version and would love to hear your feedback on the same.

I just ran my update and the version Adobe downloaded was 25.001.20428,  I checked once more for any updates and none are available so 25.001.20428 is the most recent.  Will 25.001.20428 have the fix you mention was included on 2024.005.20241?

Please install the latest update of Acrobat 25.001.20458. Planned update, Apr 15, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and check if you still see the fonts are missing.

Let us know how it goes.

Question, will the update only fix this glitch on newly created docs? Because I have a PDF file created prior to the update and it was reported by an employee and viewed by myself with the glitch this morning.
