Windows 11 24H2 Preview (26100.994) - Acrobate Reader - Prohibitive time OS Reader

New Here ,
Jun 24, 2024 Jun 24, 2024

Good morning,

Unable to directly transmit the report,

I am currently testing the Windows 11 Preview environment as an insider which should arrive this fall for INTEL / AMD architectures (the ARM copilot+ version has already been delivered on this type of machine recently).

From the initial version of 24H2 to the current version, among your applications, I am experiencing response time issues with Adobe Acrobat Reader.

When you try to launch the application, you have to wait a relatively long time before the application starts.

Likewise, when you double-click on a PDF document, whether the application is already loaded or not, same problem.

Opening the document directly from the application is immediate.

Note: If there is a beta version for this new release of the OS, I am a buyer exclusively for this version, because I do not want to pollute your other products for which I am already a subscriber.

This incident is also recorded on the forum and the Microsoft hub.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20857 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/3XSlCTw

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.
