I've seen a similar post on the site with no replies so thought I'd try...

I create Acrobat PDF forms with Submit Form buttons (with mailto/subject/body) for use on Mac and PC.

Everything works Mac side. However, on the PC side, since upgrading to Windows 11, I’m having issues when the button is clicked. All software is current including Acrobat which I reinstalled in case it would help.

Here’s two ways I’ve programmed the button that have worked in the past.

Option 1 = I get “An internal error occurred”

  • Create a Button
  • Actions
  • Select action > Submit a Form
  • Add…
  • Enter an URL for this link:

mailto:NOBODY@NOWHERE.COM?subject=MY SUBJECT&body=MY BODY

  • Export Format: PDF The complete document

Option 2 = Nothing happens

  • Create a Button
  • Select action > Run a JavaScript
  • Add…

var mySubjectLine = "MY SUBJECT" ;

this.mailDoc({cTo: "NOBODY@NOWHERE.COM", cSubject: mySubjectLine, cMsg: "MY BODY"});

Is the issue with my actions or is there an issue with Reader on Windows 11? I can change my settings etc. but I want to ensure it works for PC users without them having to reconfigure their Preferences/Settings… etc.

Any help would be appreciated.
