Word to PDF image compression

New Here ,

I have a 1.5GB Word file with 60 hi-res TIFF images.  How do I convert to pdf for professional printing without losing the resolution of the images?

Hi @rod_8896

Sorry for the delayed response, and thanks for reaching out with your question.
This document: https://adobe.ly/4jd4AYm, refers to a different type of PDF file type, and it uses.

This may be something related to your situation:

  • PDF/X. Commonly used by graphic designers and print professionals, this PDF file type is designed to better support graphics when sharing and printing.

Thank you for your patience.

~Tariq

- Designers don't use Word for professional printing 😉

- In Word select the Acrobat ribbon then go to Preferences and select the "Best quality" (not sure about the English translation), it will keep images to 300 dpi at least (see screengrab, sorry my Word is in French language).

Tariq Ahmad Dar: The PDF/X standard checks many parameters, but not the resolution of the images. For example, to print T-shirts, a resolution of 36 dpi is often more than sufficient.
