Work arounds for activation of Acrobat Pro XI

Community Beginner ,
Feb 04, 2025 Feb 04, 2025

Had to move a virtual machine that we use to create PDF files to new hardware.

Cannot activate because the activation servers have been shutdown.

Has anyone found a work around from Adobe [abuse removed] trying to force us into a subscription model?

There are no workarounds. Acrobat XI was released thirteen years ago in, 2012 and the aging server has been shut down.

CS2, CS3, CS4, OR ACROBAT 7, 8, 9, ACROBAT X, ACROBAT XI, AND 3D

Our aging activation servers for earlier versions of Acrobat and Creative Suite (CS) applications had to be retired. You won't be able to activate these apps, as these activation servers are no longer available.

Affected applications include Creative Suite 2, 3, and 4, Audition 3, Acrobat 7, 8, and 9 (Standard and Professional), Acrobat X, Acrobat XI, and Acrobat 3D Version 8.

I'm well aware of when it was released (I purchased it much after that) and it didn't and that also that the activation servers are retired, I mentioned that in my post.  I didn't come with an expiration date, end of support fine, but not end of use.

You can continue using Acrobat 11 on the same computer. What you cannot do is activate it on another computer. There are no workarounds.

We are asked not to recommend competing applications, but you can use Google or ask on a non-Adobe forum.

First of all you get 5 computers to activate when you get the license.  2nd of all its ridiculous to someone  wont have to restore a pc to different hardware, and thus have to activate.

please dont eespond again unless you have a solution, it just wastes my time.

Hello Peter!

I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

Acrobat 11 is an out-of-support product, with its support ending on October 15, 2017. For more details, please refer to this article:

🔗 End of Support for Acrobat XI and Reader XI

As our Product Expert correctly pointed out, the activation servers for Acrobat 11 are no longer available, so you won’t be able to activate the license. You may refer to the article and try the suggested steps, but they may or may not work.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
