wow do I make gray text darker, more readable?

It seems like everytime I use DC these days, I have new problems. Now I am getting headaches trying to read text because DC is showing it all as light gray colored. I'd like to make the letters black, so they are more readable (even this forum now shows text as light gray, what the heck was wrong with Black text???).

How do I fix this. Light gray against a pale washed out background is yet another gen z/mellinial fad - its just dumb. How do I fix this so the letters are black?
