32-bit package upgrading to 64-bit

I deploy a 32-bit package of Adobe Reader 21.007.20099.

The installation functions normally immediately following installation.

After ARM updater runs, however, my 32-bit install gets "automatically" upgraded to 64-bit installation of 21.007.20099, and the default PDF Reader gets reset to MS Edge.

These may or may not be directly related, but both are frustruating and have no obvious cause.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

There are a few articles on here about how to stop this from happening, but if possible just embrace the change.
