I bought Acrobat Pro DC and I don't have the tab function. I tried to activate it:

Edit >> Preferences >> General

But the possibility to activate or deactivate is missing. Any clue how to get that?

You must subscribe. The permanent license is for an older version, for which one day there will be paid updates (we think)

Amazon sells DC as a permanent license:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VGR1348/ref=oh_aui_d_detailpage_o00_?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Unfortunately the installation I tried didn't work as I can't enter my license key.

Sure, Amazon sells a permanent license, as does Adobe direct. But it is an older version of Acrobat DC which will not get new features like tabs. The permanent version is called "classic", the subscription version "continuous". The chances are you have the wrong download.

Thank you for that reply and interesting that there is nothing mentioned on the amazon website (content from Adobe).

Also sad that nor Amazon nor Adobe would take the product back and change it into the "continuous" version. I guess I have to stop buying Adobe products and use others. Sad day.
