Acrobat Reader DC defaults to printing to a PRN file instead of real printer.

For some reason, Acrobat Reader 64 bit DC started defaulting to print to file instead of my Windows default printer (an HP).  The file type is .PRN which I cannot open or print.

How can I get the app to default to my system printer?

Thanks

Change the default printer settings in the Windows control panel. Press [Windows]+[I], select [Devices] > [Devices and Printers]. There right click the Adobe PDF printer, select [Printer properties] and turn off the check box for [Print as file].
