Acrobat Reader DC freezing upon opening a document

I can run it, tried repairing and updating it, but after opening a .pdf it will work for a few seconds (being able to select text/scroll down) but then totally freeze, has to be closed from Task Manager. Can use Firefox to view .pdfs in the meantime.

Actually I can view a document properly if I'm opening it from Firefox ("What should Firefox do with this file? -Open with Firefox -Open with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (default)") but trying to open a second document from the File menu it still freezes.
