Acrobat reader DC - hide Tools bar?

This reader version has all the DC Pro tools on show in an expanded bar on the right every time I open a new document. Is there a way to prevent this from always showing up expanded when a new document is opened? Most of these buttons do not work since this is the reader view, only Comment that I can see.  I notice on the Pro version, which I have on a work computer, that this tools menu is minimised when I open a new document.

thank you

Hi Ory

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you want to minimize the right hand tool pane in Acrobat Reader DC application.

Please click on the small arrow on the right hand tool pane once to minimize it and then go to Edit (Win), Adobe Acrobat Pro (Mac) > Preferences > Documents > Select 'Remember current state of tool pane' > Click OK and reboot the application.
