Acrobat Reader DC locks up with spinning beach ball from hell... macOS Mojave 10.14.1

New Here ,
Nov 07, 2018 Nov 07, 2018

Environment:

Platform: Macbook Pro 2017 Touch Bar running on macOS Mojave 10.14.1

Software:

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2019.008.20071

Problem:

Whenever I try using the app, after an unspecified, but always short, period of time I get the rainbow beach ball of doom and the app is not responsive, necessitating a "Force Quit".

Things I have tried so far:

  1. Restarting both the app and the Mac.
  2. Checked for updates to both Reader and macOS.
  3. Downloaded the latest Reader uninstallation tool, from Adobe and ran it to completely remove Reader, then reinstalled a fresh download of Reader.
  4. Deleting all the Adobe Reader DC related .plist items, in my user/lib.
  5. Running Disk First Aid.
  6. Clean installed macOS.
  7. Wasting way too much of my life searching through fora to try and find a solution.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, to escape the hunter-killer beach ball.

Hi deejerydoo,

As per the issue description mentioned above, you are getting rainbow beach ball after using reader for some time, is that correct?
