Acrobat Reader not saving my signature!

I have to fill out a government-issued pdf form. The form comes partially pre-filled and all I have to do is add my signature to it. I urgently need to sign it and send it back in order to get paid.

I have a paid-for Adobe account & saved, ready-made signatures, so on the app, I tap on 'Sign', insert the signature, tap the tick box indicating 'Save', and when I try to export/save as/print/email to the signed form, the signature just disappears, the field is empty. I've tried it on laptop, too, but same thing: signature is successfully inserted, but when it's saved/exported the signature field is blank. Sometimes when I click on the field, I can see the outline of a signature image. I have a touch screen, so I tried drawing a new signature, too, instead of inserting, and that didn't work either.

I even tried to fill out the blank form, without the pre-filled fields. Still nothing.

From my internet search for solution it seems like using Apple Preview can cause an issue? That's what the person who sent me the form used to pre-fill and sign it themselves. It seems like they have no other options to do it, so I'll have to make it work. I can't use any other eSigning tools (like DocuSign) because they leave a 'watermark' that says it was signed by DocuSign, and this signature has to look like it's hand signed.

Do not use Fill & Sign. Try clicking the field directly. If it's a Digital Signature field (hard to see from the screenshot) you'll be prompted to sign it using a digital signature profile that you'll need to create, or to use one that was assigned to you by the government. If that doesn't work I suggest contacting them and asking what kind of signature they want you to add there, exactly.
