Adobe Acrobat Reader 11 & DC not communicating with printer

Adobe Acrobat Reader 11 & DC not communicating with printer, nothing goes to the print spooler, and when you hit 'Properties' when the print dialog opens, nothing happens. The printer is directly connected to the computer. No PDF's will print through Acrobat, either version. The same files will print through other programs, including Foxit reader.

I have:

  • Rebooted many times
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled Reader DC (twice)
  • Inastalled Reader XI
  • Deleted the entries in the registry (as recommended)
  • Changed the security settings in Reader (as recommended)
  • Updated the printer drivers
  • Removed and re-added printer
  • Made sure each version of Acrobat Reader was up to date

I am out of ideas, it was working a few days ago, then just stopped. Please help.

Me, too.

I had tried reinstalling Adobe Reader ,and using Adobe Reader Cleaner.

Both of them didn't work

I thought my anti-virus might blocked process of reader

I tried to exclude the whole folder of Adobe Reader
Now I can enter into printer's properties , and print the PDF files

Hi Adobe Reader team,

I am also facing the same issue as robd64027506.

It seems that the issue occurred after the latest update of Reader to version 19.021.20049.

Can somebody help ?

I have the same problem and tried those solutions too. I just posted my version of the question. Very frustrating. I spent 4 hours doing updates and reinstalls and it still doesn't work.

The only thing I haven't tried is that Adobe clean up tool. I'll see if I can get to that today, and I'll post the results.

I will try that as well. It's on someone else's computer so I have to wait to do it.

What is your anti-virus software?

We called it PC-Cillin Anti-Virus  in Taiwan

International name will be  "Trend Micro Internet Security"

I didn't receive any other anti-virus software that may block Adobe Reader to print files

It worked, excluding the Adobe folders from the virus scanner was the answer!

I saw another thread that recommended Malwarebytes for this problem. I just used it and I was able to print a PDF afterwards.

WOW, that's the antivirus that was on his computer, it was Trend Micro Internet Security!

I use Malawarebytes at home, and on my work computer, so I can verify that it works as well.

THANKS AGAIN!!!!

My main antivirus program is Trend Micro Internet Security. That seems to be a common thread with people who have this problem!
