OS: Windows 10 home

Installed: Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017

Issue: when opening a PDF file, I get a pop-up error message stating: "Adobe Acrobat Reader 2017 has stopped working correctly.  Please close the program"

Closure of the program will only then allow for Acrobat to open the desired file.

Attempted solutions: uninstall, restart the PC and reinstall Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 (X3): unsuccessful

Also attempted to engage the "Repair" option unsucessfully.

Thank you for any assistance in this matter.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. As described you are getting the error message 'Acrobat Reader has stopped working'

As you have already tried to repair and reinstall the application with no luck, please tryout the steps shared in the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-crashes-on-windows-os.html and see if that works for you.
