Hi,
due to the End of Life of Adobe Reader XI which will be reached on 10/15/2017 I need to prepare a deployment/upgrade model for Reader DC(Multilingual User Interface).
My problem is that I cannot find a MUI MSI package of Reader DC, I searched through the Adobe FTP server, but all I could find are MSIs for singe languages(example: de-DE, en-US) or the MUI .EXE installer.
Does anyone know if there is a MUI MSI for Reader DC and where I can find it?
Alternatively, how to extract the MSI from the EXE installer?
Installing a base version such as “en-US” and then adding Interface languages to it?
Any input would be appreciated.
Current Reader XI deployment model:
- Base MSI from Adobe FTP: AdbeRdr11000_mui_Std.zip
- Slipstreaming latest MSP file into base MSI
- Deployment of the MSI via GPO
Hi RabanserD,
Sorry for the delay in response.
You may visit this document and check the MUI installer for Reader DC: Language Support and Configuration — Enterprise Administration Guide
Let us know if that helps.

This link is not valid anymore I don't understand why there is such a hassle to get the MUI installer even when you have the agreement.
Is there an updated link or could Adobe stop being so don't care about the customer and present the information correctly instead of a wild goose chase around the forums and in the downloads section ?
Thanks

Hi Goran,
Here is the link ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/ where you can download the MUI installers.
Also, I am getting this link mentioned in Adobe Toolkit in my previous response corrected. Thank you for point it out and sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello There Tariq, I checked the ftp link and those only contains msp files not the full MUI msi
I have to deploy reader dc to some 350 to 450 computers in the next future where most of them are going to have English but some will need to be japanese.
Previously we used reader XI MUI which meant that if the language was changed into japanese the UI in Acrobat reader was changed automaitcally aswell as support for japanese and korean characters.
I really not looking forward to have to make exceptions for the computers that have to use japanese language and UI.
Edit found the EXE MUI installer file lets see if I can extract a MSI from it,
I am not particulary intrested in using any Adobe Toolkit to deploy a reader DC.

You have to create the installer yourself.. Adobe have a Customization Wizard... https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Wizard/WizardDC/index.html
Welcome to the Wizard — Acrobat Customization Wizard DC for Windows
You have to install and manually copy the language files for every language you need individually... Its a bit of a pain in the Ass.. I do Software Versions Management for a European company and needed a MUI version for 10 languages.. Strangely Adobe don't have a Greek version.. I think the end package was about 500MB..

Hi,
this is a old thread but i found no helpful entrys and maybe i can help some other it guys.
I try some things and i see that Adobe use the baseline of DC 2015 for DC 2018
There is no mui installer for reader dc 2018!
So you must use the DC 2015 MUI with the newest 2018 MUI Update like this.
msiexec /i "%~dp0AcroRead.msi" PATCH="%~dp0AcroRdrDCUpd1801120040_MUI.msp" /qn TRANSFORMS="%~dp0AcroRead.mst" /qn
DC 2015
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/1500720033/
DC 2018 Update
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/1801120040/

Dear Adobe
We too are having trouble trying to find and install the .msi on our network. I have extracted the msi out of the exe using 7 zip but once attached and deployed via GPO it said it is installing adobe reader DC, but does not actually install on the machines. We also have used msi wrappers and still no luck. This is preventing many people from opening new PDF's in the old version.
Can you please just create the msi package ready to download and deploy via a link, why have you stopped providing this software in the msi format?
Regards

Why did you use 7zip instead of following Adobe’s clear instructions to get the MSI?

There is a forum devoted to enterprise deployment: https://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat/acrobat_enterprise_install
There is an enterprise toolkit:
https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/index.html
There is info on expanding EXE packages:
If this is all new to you, I should probably also make sure you know that if you plan to install or preload Acrobat Reader on behalf of other staff you need a Redistribution License, since this is otherwise a breach of EULA terms. Volume distribution | Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

There is no full installer for most versions, only the baseline. So you need to deploy first the baseline, then the single latest MSP. The Adobe toolkit is the documentation you need to read.
