Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Not Working

New Here ,
Jan 26, 2018 Jan 26, 2018

I have and have used Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for years with no problems.  However, now I can't open pdf files and I can't create pdf files.  I can see my Adobe Acrobat Reader DC icon in my toolbar.  I tried updating the tool version, but I'm told my version is up to date.  I tried downloading Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, but I'm told there is a higher version of Adobe on my MacBook Air currently, so the download won't complete.

How can I view and create pdf files?
