I am a network administrator. Over the last 3 weeks, pretty much every computer in my environment has had issues with Reader getting hung while trying to open. It will open just fine once after a reboot, but then it will freeze and each subsequent attempt to open a PDF does nothing. It opens a new acro32.exe process never opens the PDF like the user wants. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat, ensured all drivers and OS updates are applied/up to date. I have found a solution, which is disabling enhanced security, but this solution is profile specific and applying this on 200+ machines in the environment will take ages due to the users needing to be signed in and available to have their work interupted. All machines are on Windows 10, release 1909, and the software is the most current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
I am curious why this may have happened all of a sudden to every machine in the building as well as any other work arounds that are not disabling the enhanced security mode. Any assistance is appreciated.

This is not a common problem so far as I can see. It might be that there is useful info in the Protected Mode Log File identifying a problem, though Reader is designed to continue with minimum access.
