Adobe crashing when changing signature field to e-signature

I am trying to do an e-signature form and I can add the recipients and run the prepare document.  When I try to change the data type of the signature field from Text to e-signature it visually changes but then freezes and eventually crashes.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of the application but that did not fix it.  Event viewer has the following errors.

A temporary workaround is to go to "Preferences->Adobe Online Services" and under E-signing Settings enable Legacy version.

I would like to find a solution so I can use the advanced features

my case was it's a new laptop with a freshly installed Win10 and Adobe Acrobat.  User reported that it started crashing whenever she uses the e-Sign feature.

I saw the "solution" in Reddit and seem to have fixed the issue:

Go to the location mentioned below and deleted the following files:
%appdata%\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\acrobat_fss_signature_initials
%appdata%\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\acrobat_fss_signature_initialsi
%appdata%\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\acrobat_fss_signature_initialsk
