I have adobe reader 11 and acrobat on the same terminal server. When a user needs to view a pdf document in Internet Explorer it pops up a message asking if you want to open and save. I just want it to open. and not pop up. Because adobe acrobat x is installed the list of addons in internet explorer is different. I do not see the one called "Adobe PDF Reader". It has 3 other addons for adobe acrobat X. I think if the Adobe PDF Reader was there and enabled it would stop the popup. On a computer with just adobe reader installed if the  "Adobe PDF Reader" is enabled then it opens pdf documents fine in IE. if you disable the addon it gives you the pop up. So I think because IE is missing this addon it might be the cause of the popup.
