I have installed the adobe Reader DC completely fresh. When i open a Scanned PDF File with high Quality (2MB  to 4MB) the loading performance is poorly slow.

When i open the same files with foxit PDF Reader i can use ist earlier and very fast.

I have Windows 10 (1703) and a fast Workstation from HP with Quadcore Xenon, 12GB Ram ,SSD.

The PDFs places in a Network folder. How can i Speed up Adobe Reader??

Better Performance ??!!

Hi Alexs,

As per the issue description mentioned above, when trying to open a scanned pdf from a network drive, Reader performance is slow, is that correct?

Please try updating Reader to the latest version if you haven't already and see if that helps. Launch Reader > click Help > Check for Updates

Does this also happen when you open a pdf file which is not stored on a network drive?

What is the version of Reader DC installed on the machine: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Awaiting your response.

Shivam

Hi Shivam,

its the latest Version installed. The speed is the same when the file is on the SSD Drive. The Rendering of this PDF is very slow but the quality is high.

Thanks for the information.

Please try changing following setting and see if that helps.

Launch Reader > click Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced)

2- Uncheck the box next to Enable protected mode at startup

3- Click OK, relaunch Reader and try opening pdf.

Please note: Disabling protected mode is for the troubleshooting purpose only, please enable protected mode once the troubleshooting is complete.

Thanks,

Shivam
