Adobe Reader DC crashes after 30 seconds - Windows 10 Pro

New Here ,
May 09, 2017 May 09, 2017

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times, always restarting my computer to make sure the changes adjust accordingly. It freezes when I try to fill in a form, it shuts down if I try to click on preferences. None of the solutions I have read seem to either work or be applicable. I'm on a PC, as you can see, using Windows 10 Pro. I use Adobe Reader all the time and can't afford to have it crashing every minute. I'm fairly proficient technologically speaking, but I'm definitely no computer genius. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi eebaker,

For the freezing and crashing issue, please try the troubleshooting steps provided here: Troubleshoot Windows system errors, freezes | Adobe software

In addition to above try the following: troubleshooting

  • Run as administrator - Right click on Adobe Reader icon and select Run as administrator.
  • Run in compatibility mode.
  • Try to open application with another user account.

If nothing works, then try to run the cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs and restart your system.

Then try to re-install application from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Let us know if you experience any issue.

Regards,

Meenakshi
