Recently have encountered issues where the Select Tool morphs into a giant slash or morphs into a giant vertical line and the Selection Highlight covers roughly 2-3 inches versus the specific text, link etc I am trying to choose.  Please guide me on a course of action, thank you

Hello Rlshulze,

We're sorry for the trouble you had with Adobe Reader, please check for any pending updates of Adobe Reader from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after updating Adobe Reader and see if this brings any difference in the Selection Tool.

Reset the Adobe Reader's preferences and reboot the machine, to reset the preferences, take help from the article How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default. and check with the Selection Tool.

Is it specific to one PDF or with all the PDF files? Have you checked with any other PDF file?

If the issue still persists after resetting the preferences, please use Acrobat cleaner tool to remove Adobe Reader Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine and install the latest version of Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Is it a Mac or Windows machine on which you are experiencing this issue and what is the version of the OS installed?

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes have uninstalled/reinstalled - Updated Updates - Repair function.

Using Windows 7 x64 sp1 as the OS.  I have isolated it to a print to PDF function in the print dialogue feature.  If I Print to 'Adobe PDF' the Select Icon issue persists, if I 'Save to PDF' from the print dialogue feature using Chrome (HTML to PDF) there are zero issues with the PDF.   The Adobe branded HTML to PDF 'plug in' (Chrome) does a poor job at retaining the exact format of the web page I am printing/saving to PDF hence I use the CTRL+P option to perform task.

There may be some HTML/CSS pieces that are not jiving with the 'Print to PDF' function per my Engineer.
