I don't know.  It is smooth in Pro, and  cross hatched in Reader DC.  It changed when I loaded a form and now everything I open is cross hatched.

Ah, does it look like this?

Usually called a "checkerboard"? If so, under Display preferences turn off "Transparency grid".
