Adobe Reader RdrCEF.exe is disabling Citrix Universal DLL Injection Driver

Dear Reader,

We are currently using Acrobat Reader DC version DC Oct 2021 (21.007.20099) in Citrix.

In last week of December, we received an error related to Citrix XenApp to which post troubleshooting we identified that RdrCEF.exe process running on the server is disabling the Citrix Universal DLL injection Driver due to which it impacted lauching of the applications from Citrix.

Initially, server restart worked and issue did not appear.

Unfortunately, in January 2022 we faced the similar issue.

Workaround was provided from the citrix community to update UviProcessExcludes registry entry by appending the reader process.

I would like to know what could be the probable cause of such issue?

Is it a known issue which you have already acknowledged and working on it to fix it permanently?

@bryanket : glad to know that i'm not the only one who faced this issue. Somehow, we have also encountered the same issue in December and January. As you have already mentioned, updating the registry entry solved this issue for now. We are also interested to know the actual reason behind this event.
