I have windows vista and need a version of adobe reader. I can't seem to find it to download. Can anybody help?
Hi Anthonyn34334726,
As windows vista is quite old version and only old versions of Reader are compatible, which is 10 and 9.
neither the windows vista nor Reader ix and x supported currently.
However, I have sent you the link (via private message) to download the old version of Reader X if you wish to install that.
Note: We do not support the old versions or provide any privacy with it as it doesn't have any security enabled anymore.
have shared the download link with you, if you would still wants to

You may go through the Adobe Reader | Tech specs to know more about it.

I don't understand why the secrecy behind this... Adobe doesn't support Vista anymore, OK, but the installers for older versions are publicly available on the Adobe FTP site, so why not link to them so others can find them as well?
In case anyone is looking for old installers of Reader, they're available here: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/

I don't understand why no one knows that Reader XI works fine on Vista (but certainly not Acrobat Reader DC). That shouldn't be surprising since Reader XI officially supports Server 2008, which was the server version of Vista. I will certainly never go back to Reader X.

I have Windows Vista and a older kobo touch e-reader and have successfully used ADE version 1.7.2.1131 for the past 5 years until November, 2016. without any problem. I took my laptop and e-reader to the public library and after 1 hour trying to fix the error. The error message I got " IO Error on Network Request.
Please check your network connection and try again." Each time I tried to download a book, it looked like is was downloading, then the error message came up. The IT person finally said that it looks like ADE doesn't support it anymore and all is outdated. Even this ADE version has the help site taken off.
So, my question is there anything else I can do to get my kobo and library working? Is the problem my laptop Vista, ADE, or library? For example, if I had a newer laptop or tablet, could it work with my Kobo touch original.
Thanks for any help.
Liz

Luz, I recommend you try the forum for Adobe Digital Editions (ADE), it's quite different from Acrobat Reader and we don't know much about it here. Good luck!
