We have multiple machines that Adobe Reader will not Open at all, we have to keep restarting the computer in order for it to work. Adobe solution so far: Install Adobe Acrobat Pro....
- This is unacceptable since not everyone can afford Pro license.
- Adobe Reader DC (Previous Versions or New Versions) will simply either take 25 minutes to launch or it will simply never open.
Steps taken:
1. Uninstall Reinstall Reader
2. Run Malware Scan
3. Run AdwCleaner Scan
4. CCleaner Scan
5. SysInternals to make sure there are no programs disrupting on Startup.
6. Update all other Applications like Office Home and Business 2016
7. SFC Scan for File Integrity issues.
8. Check for Windows Updates
9. Run Repair on Adobe Reader
10. Install the latest drivers for the laptop or Desktop.
11. Perform the (Preference) fix that Adobe Recommends.
12. When opening the files it doesn't matter if they are Locally Saved on the Desktop or in a Share Drive on the Network, Adobe will simply not open.
13. So far the only thing that works is Restart the Computer or Switch PDFs to Edge and god forbid you do that to a client, after a little bit Adobe will stop opening up or take 25 minutes to open.
Issue started happening since Last Friday 5/17/2019 I cannot be the only one having these issues with Reader. Anyone ?
