One of our users is trying to open a doc and every time it populates really slow. Does anyone have a solution to why it would start doing this? No one else in the office seems to have this problem.

As explained above, that only one of the user is experiencing this problem so there must be some compatibility issue with the system and the environment he is working on?
Adobe Reader XI is an older version of Reader application either he can update it to Reader DC (as its free application)
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions and see if that helps or can try resetting the preferences of the current application.
