Adobe Window flashes open momentarily every time pdf is opened, or saved.

It's not a problem, just an annoyance, but becoming quite an annoyance...has been happening for the past few days.

Every time I open a pdf (I only have Reader installed, not the Adobe Pro) the document opens, and about 5 seconds later an adobe window flashes open for a second and closes...too fast to even see what it is...I see the top border saying adobe but the centre of the window is blank...it disappears before it has a chance to load properly. It also happens if I open the program itself, or if I have a file open and go to save it...

It never happened before, and it is now quite annoying. I tried a "repair" of the program, but still persists..

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Windows 10 with latest Acrobat reader

Hi @ozeannie

Sorry for the delay in response and about your experience.

If you are still experiencing the same issue, then please try the following steps:

Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s files traces:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

Download the Acrobat installer from here: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Even after downloading, if you face trouble saving the document and get a blank page, then navigate to these preferences and change these settings:

Open the Preferences dialog box in Acrobat:

  • On Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences > General.

Clear the check box for the following options:

  • Show online storage when opening files
  • Show online storage when saving files >OK

Reference help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/blank-save-as-dialog-mac.html

Thanks,

Akanchha
