AdobeDC and windows 10 Preview Pane issue

Hi,

I am currently having an issue with Adobe Reader DC and the Windows 10 Preview pane, what happens is, that it will work 100% for a few PDF documents and display them correctly, and then all of a sudden you click on one PDF, no matter what size it is, and it will take a minute to 3 minutes to load, then it will work fine again for a few more PDF's and the issue will repeat.

I have tried a different PDF reader and it does give me the same issue, however I have also used the Preview with MS office files and other documents with the Windows Preview that works 100% fine, the problem seems to only sit with PDF documents and windows 10 Preview Pane.

Hi Roberts,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As I understand, you are referring that when you open the PDFs in Adobe Reader DC or the Windows preview pane, it opens some of the PDFs slowly.

It may be an issue with the PDF due to which it takes time to load.

Did you check if the issue occurs to same PDFs when you open them either in Adobe Reader DC or the Windows Preview pane?

If not, please try to open some PDFs in Reader DC, then check which files take time to open.

Then open same PDFs in Windows preview pane and check if the same file takes time to load.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Hey Meenakshi,

Thanks for taking the time to respond,

Opening the PDF documents is fine in Adobe DC, and works 100% of the time, documents open with no issues and quite quickly.

It is only when I try and preview any PDF with Windows Preview Pane in Windows 10 that it will open fine for a few documents, and then I click on a PDF document and it will then take a while to preview, its not specific to a particular PDF, it even happens on a PDF that I previewed correctly 10 minutes before, and its only on PDF documents where I have this issue.

Thanks for the sharing the information.

As it is an issue only with the Windows Preview pane, it does not seems to be an Adobe issue.

Sorry to say there is nothing much that can be done from our end.

As the PDFs open in Reader DC without any issue, there is no issue with the PDF either.

I would suggest once to contact support for Microsoft support team to get this checked.

Let us know if you need any help from us.

Regards,

Meenakshi

I have also logged a ticket with MS for this, however I find it strange that it only happens with PDF documents, I don't have this issue with  Word, Excel ,txt documents.
