Adobe Reader DC is a freeware software used to view, print, annotate and sign a PDF. For detailed information, refer to Answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

However, you cannot open an Illustrator file in Adobe Reader. To open an Illustrator file in Adobe Reader, you have to convert the file to PDF using Acrobat Pro and then you can open that PDF file in Adobe Reader.

     Buenas tardes no me hice entender, cuando yo estoy haciendo un trabajo en illustrator y por casualidad quiero abrir una guía en pdf con el adobe reader no me funciona y luego de cerrar illustrator me toca volver a instalar adobe para que me vuelva a funcionar

Is it a Mac or Windows machine and what is the version?

What is the dot version of Adobe Reader installed? To identify refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed, check for any pending updates of Adobe Reader from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after updating Adobe Reader.
