I searched the forum in case answer was clear elsewhere, but that was not clear either. So, apologize if this was posted elsewhere here, but at this point the frustration (and time wasted) is too much.
>> I am trying to get Adobe Reader ONLY (not the DC - I do NOT want Document Cloud storage, just a clean, READER ONLY with zero bloat add-ons/ trials/ cloud options, etc...) installed in a x64 laptop (running W10 w/ all its updates).
>> The first time I tried, I used the Adobe Reader install that the web page below direct me too. What it installed was WAY more than I wanted and it was too SLOW to open any pdfs. It also failed to allow me to use Windows File Explorer to preview pdfs (which is a most on my end).

>> I cannot remember all the things I tried, but I did manage to uninstall "Acrobat" - which felt like more than just 'Reader".
>> The laptop is also running Lightroom Classic using my AdobeCreative monthly plan - and that's running fine and the latest version.
>> BUT, I still cannot figure out why I cannot just installed Adobe Reader ONLY (not Acrobat, not DC version). I need a clean, lean install w/o any Adobe bells or whistles

This is no longer possible, if you want to have the latest version of Reader.
If you don't mind an older version, you can get it here:
