Black & white boxes suddenly appearing on PDF when saving from PPT or Word

I've been saving a PPT document as a PDF for the past several months (it's a document I update regularly). All of a sudden, when I save to PDF, any image that was inserted from Adobe Illustrator gets translated to a black box or white box. I've tried solving this issue with suggestions from others that have offered ways to correct, but nothing is working. PLEASE HELP, I'M ON A DEADLINE TODAY!!!

Hello Cricksy,

Please ensure that you are using Reader or Acrobat.

How you are trying to save a PPT to PDF ? Are you using Create PDF service in Application ?

Please try converting your document via http://cloud.acrobat.com/convertpdf

Please let us know how it goes.

-Thanks

Acrobat Team

Yes, I was using Acrobat Reader when saving the PPT to PDF by simply clicking "save as PDF". I've done this hundreds of times before, even with the same file and never had any issues until this weekend. I went to the http://cloud.acrobat.com/convertpdf

and uploaded by PPT to the cloud on that website, but when I do that I lose all my brand specific fonts. Plus, now I just have a PPT on the website - not clear how to convert the PPT to a PDF that preserves my fonts once my PPT (with messed up fonts) is on that site.

Can you please be more specific on how to fix this issue? Is there a phone number where I can call and talk to someone at Adobe??
